Shrek the Musical is heading to Netflix's streaming service this April, on April Fool's Day no less. 

This ten-camera professional recording will become available to UK audiences on April 1st, featuring the original Broadway company, led by Brian d'Arcy James as Shrek, Sutton Foster as Princess Fiona, Daniel Breaker as Donkey, and Christopher Sieber as Lord Farquaad.

Based on William Steig's children's book and the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, the musical originally premiered on Broadway in 2008 and ran at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in the West End from 2011.

So if you have a Netflix subscription and are looking for a musical hole to fill, be sure to put the date in your calendar and enjoy.
