Golden Ticket Competition

posted 19 Aug 2024

Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre this September in BeAmazingArts’ production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Wonka isn’t the only chocolatier we’ve welcomed to the theatre though.

Our namesake owned a chocolate factory known for creating some of the nation’s favourite sweet treats. In fact, our theatre was opened in 1935 by Seebohm Rowntree, the Chairman of Rowntree & Co Ltd at the time. It’s a fitting setting for this beloved show and a Golden Ticket Competition of our own!

Young Charlie Bucket won’t be the only lucky winner. Audiences will have the chance to win their own golden and silver tickets over the next month, hidden inside competition KitKats sold at the theatre. Buy one (or a few) bars of chocolate, cross your fingers and unwrap your treat to see if you are one of our lucky winners. Be the first to find one of our golden tickets hidden inside three 4-Finger KitKats to win tickets to this year’s Panto – Mother Goose. Or secure free tickets to our Film Nights with a silver ticket hidden inside 20 of the 2-Finger KitKats sold at the theatre.

All money raised by the sales of the competition bars will go towards our Heart For the Arts campaign. Help us raise funds to provide a much-needed meeting place and waiting area to relax in before performances, as well as the inclusion of an in-house bar and additional toilets in a new ‘Garden Room’.

For Charlie, “however small the chance might be of striking lucky, the chance was there.” In our Golden Ticket Competition, the chances are a bit bigger, with over 40 free tickets being given away over the next month!

Enjoy a treat. Win prizes. Support the theatre.
