Essex, 1968. When the seamstresses working at Ford’s plant in Dagenham discover that they are to have their pay grade dropped to “unskilled,” it changes their lives forever.
It falls to Rita O’Grady, a working mother, to lead the battle against the might of Ford and the corruption of the Union on a quest for equal pay. Based on a remarkable true story, this funny, touching and timeless musical remains as relevant today as ever before.
This fundraising show for the Joseph Rowntree Theatre contains some very strong language and may not be suitable for children as a result.
